The Czech Republic is a safe country with quality medical care, a well-functioning public transport system and easy access to all services. So there is no need to worry about visiting with a small child.

Before you go and what to pack
If you’re travelling with a young child, you need to plan your trip in advance. I recommend to have a good quality travel insurance with unlimited cover for medical and other care.
Pack the following stuff for your child for a three to four day stay:
– Three long-sleeved shirts.
– three pairs of trousers
– sweatshirt
– hat (summer or winter), 2 socks,
– light blanket
– 5 nappies for the day you are travelling, 4 nappies for the next day, wet wipes (buy the rest here teddyrental.cz )
– 4 fruit snacks (pockets), 2 main meals in a jar, crisps
– drink, milk if needed (I measure the necessary amount at home, pour it into a bottle, seal the other amount in a bag and take it with me in my backpack), thermo bottle with warm water (flight attendants will also offer you water, however, it is usually too hot and with a baby in your arms you have nowhere to put it to cool down). That is why I recommend pouring already boiled 50-40 degree water into a thermo bottle at home, so it will cool down to the required 30-40 degrees in 3 hours.
– book, toy, tablet or mobile (anything to keep the child occupied – I recommend multiple combinations). The Albi pencil has worked well for me
– first aid kit (pain and fever medication, thermometer, anti-diarrhea medication, hydration solution, patches, disinfectant). I also pack antihistamines (Fenistil drops and gel)
– travel wash, travel diaper rash cream, toothpaste, toothbrush
– supply of pacifiers 😊
I mentioned in the introduction that you need to plan. For example, when search accommodation I look at whether the property has a washing machine, whether the building has a lift or how well equipped the kitchen is. For example, a washing machine is important if you’re travelling for multiple days without luggage and need to wash things, in the kitchen I focus on small pots, a potato peeler and smaller bowls are useful.
